Sound Human checks writing for phrases that sound machine-written. It is built so that your text never leaves your computer.

What the extension reads

When you start a check (toolbar button, keyboard shortcut or right-click), it reads the text box you are typing in or the text you selected on that page. If you turn on "check as I type" for a site, it reads text boxes on that site while you type. It does not read anything else on the page.

Where that text goes

Nowhere. All checking happens inside the extension on your device. Your text is never sent to us or to anyone else, never stored, and never used to train anything.

What it stores, on your device only

Your settings (the sites you picked, your banned-words list), how many free fixes you used today, and your Pro license key if you bought one. Settings may sync through your own browser account if you have browser sync turned on.

The only network request

If you buy Pro, the extension sends your license key to Dodo Payments, the store that sold it, to confirm it is valid: once when you activate it and about once a week after that. Nothing else is sent with it.

Purchases

When you buy Pro, Dodo Payments collects your name, email and payment details to process the order, under its privacy policy. We receive your name, email and order details from Dodo Payments so we can send your key and answer support requests. We don't sell or share them.

This website

This site has no analytics, ads, cookies or third-party scripts.
